Annabel Mednick

I am a figurative artist, working in oil on canvas. I have won awards for my portraits, including prizes at the Sternberg Center and at the prestigious BP Portrait Awards at the National Portrait Gallery. I have exhibited at a number of locations around London and Brussels.

I now live in Ipswich, and I am aiming to establish myself here not only for my commissioned portraits, but also for my more thematic works. A recent series provided a moving account of the strength and dignity of homeless people in London.

In my work I try to capture the intensity and flow of the fleeting moment, the play of the light, and the pleasures, fears and frustrations of everyday life.
